scrolltalk is a new take on chat. We like to think of it as Interest Messaging. It cuts through the noise of regular chat rooms and allows you to engage in relevant conversations. Your conversations are ever evolving, and move in a direction that suits you.
scrolltalk works by using tagged keywords to connect you to new people, new topics, and new ideas. You start off by asking a question or making a comment on your topic of choice. You then see messages posted by other users on your topic. The more users there are, the more specific to your topic the messages you see are. If a keyword you are interested in is not being discussed by many people, the discussions you will see are more general. This is to prevent you from being in a specific discussion with one or two other people, and no way out.
Imagine yourself in a big room of people. Everyone breaks up into smaller groups based on who they know, or what they like to talk about. As the discussions move on, you may hear comments on a different topic in the background noise, and if this interests you, then you can move on to that group. Conversely, you can have people join in on your conversations should they be interested. If the topic of your discussion changes, you and your friends can merge with another group of like-minded individuals.
What makes scrolltalk different?
scrolltalk is one big room. You have the opportunity to converse with anybody, provided they are discussing topics you have tagged. Other chat rooms put people interested in similar topics in their own room. We keep everyone in the same room, but put you in evolving groups. These groups are constantly changing as your interests change.
A relevancy-based single chatroom gives you the freedom to discuss what you want, with the added benefit of, at the same time, being able to unobtrusively eavesdrop on other topics of discussion that might interest you.
You can select keywords to tag by clicking on them in the chatbox. You can also click on different users to keep track of what they say, regardless of their topic of discussion.
